Today, President Obama designated a new national monument honoring the struggle for women’s equality – the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument in Washington, D.C. One of the oldest standing houses near the U.S. Capitol, the newest monument permanently protects the the iconic Sewall-Belmont House that served as the headquarters for the National Woman’s Party, which fought to advance women’s rights throughout the 20th century. http://on.doi.gov/1NmuC5m
